Shakespeare Under the Stars
Dates: June 6-15, 2024
Times:
- Thur/Fri/Sat (6th-8th) 8:00-12:00 p.m.
- Mon/Tues (10th-11th) 1:00-9:00 p.m.
- Wed (12th) 1:00-10:00 p.m.
- Thur (13th) 4:00 p.m. until end of show
- Fri (14th) 6:00 p.m. until end of show
- Sat (15th) 6:00-11:00 p.m. (includes a show)
Ages: 12 years old and up
Cost: $200/per student

Shakespeare Under the Stars (SUS) found a permanent home when the EmilyAnn was founded. Originally a program of Wimberley High School, Shakespeare Under the Stars has been fully funded and administered by the EmilyAnn Theatre since 1998. This unique Shakespeare Intensive offers students the opportunity to study and perform one of Shakespeare's plays during the summer. Students select an area of technical theatre (set construction, costuming, or lighting) on which to focus. With guidance, students aid in the construction of the costumes and sets. When not working on their assigned technical area, students rehearse with the director, working on acting and the understanding of Shakespeare's plays. Students also attend workshops to compliment their theatre experience.
The goals of Shakespeare Under the Stars are to:
- foster a love, appreciation, and understanding of Shakespeare's works,
- enable students to assist in producing a full-length play,
- provide students with a solid background in theatre industry practices and safety standards,
- build students' self-confidence, team-work skills & leadership skills,
- and build students' competence in theatre arts.
Musical Camp
Dates: June 17-22, 2024
Times:
- Mon-Fri (17th-21st) 1:00-5:00 p.m. & show at 6:00 p.m. on Friday
- Sat (22nd) show at 6:00 p.m.
Ages: 10 years old and up
Cost: $150/per student
