Drama classes for children grades K-8, taught by Bridget Farias, are offered every Fall and Spring at the EmilyAnn Theatre. The class curriculum is designed to make all aspects of theatre accessible and fun to children, regardless if they have had experience on stage or not. The classes cover everything from Improvisation to Shakespeare to Prop Building, all being taught through interactive and engaging games and exercises. Each session will end with a theatre production on stage, starring the students from class and featuring all they have learned and experienced through the course. The classes, only $200 for the entire session (including costumes, snacks, and supplies) fill up quickly so be sure to register your child soon for the next session!
Shakespearience: A Shakespeare Day Camp for Kids
- Ages: 5 to 11
- Dates: June 7th � 18th, 2010
- Days/Times: Monday through Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm
- Why: Making Shakespeare accessible and fun for children
- How: Campers will be working and playing with the story Romeow and Drooliet, an animal re-telling of Romeo and Juliet by Nina Laden. They will be writing their own scripts, creating basic costuming and set elements, and performing for friends and family at the end of camp. Campers will also be learning about Elizabethan life, including dance, etiquette, sword fighting (with foam swords), and more.
- Snacks: Nutritious snacks will be provided daily. Campers will need to bring sack lunches.
- Tuition and Fees: $300/per child

Spring Classes
Dreamers (Drama One)
- Tuesdays 3:45-5:15 p.m.
- This class is specifically designed for children that either have had no prior drama instruction, or that just feels they would prefer to take a more basic class to continue to grow out of their "shell" or comfort zone.
- The class will end with a performance on the EmilyAnn Theatre Mainstage for Butterfly Festival.

Stars (Drama Two)

Bards (High School Shakespeare)
- Thursdays 4:00-5:15 p.m.
- This is a Shakespeare-intensive class that will focus on text, history, and performance of William Shakespeare's plays, specifically for high school students. This class will cater to both the very experienced Shakespeare student and to the beginner Shakespeare student.
- The class will end with a Shakespeare Showcase at the beginning of May.
