Spend an evening in Wimberley celebrating the 10th year of The EmilyAnn Theatre's Trail of Lights. Here you will find an enchanted pathway that winds up a six acre hill where a Zilker-like Christmas tree awaits you. Enjoy the 360 degree view of the Wimberley Valley.
Over 100 lighted exhibits created by churches, families, businesses and civic groups highlight every aspect of the Christmas season. A nightly campfire, complete with free hotdogs and marshmallows to roast, welcome every visitor. Musical events or other types of entertainment occur on most nights. However, it is the magic and beauty of this outdoor environment that captures the true spirit of the season.
Donations are accepted, but the main focus is for you to come and prepare yourself, your family, and your friends for the real meaning of Christmas. Come. Lift up your eyes unto the hills and go home enriched with limitless possibilities of Peace on Earth and Good Will toward men.
There is no admission to the Trail of Lights, however donations are gratefully accepted. This is a walking trail, and is not wheelchair accessible, but we do have golf carts for handicapped individuals. It is also possible to unload people at the Yule Log. Contact our office if you will need assistance and we will be there to help you!
ROCKING HORSE RAFFLE CONGRATULATIONS TO ELIZABETH ANDERSON!!
The mission statement for the EmilyAnn Theatre is to "celebrate the dignity of the human spirit". As you read this, we will be deep into preparations for the festival that speaks directly to the celebration of that spirit and the spirit of light that lives in every heart - the ninth annual "Trail of Lights". The Trail serves to finish out our theatre year and to launch our minds into the New Year, and what a way to finish and to begin - watching multitudes of people sitting around a fire toasting marshmallows, singing, telling stories - strolling through the theatre grounds enjoying the wonderful displays created by the Valley family - celebrating the dignity of the human spirit.
As the Trail visitors are strolling, roasting, singing, visiting, they will be doing so in the shadow of the most exciting addition to the Theatre for 2006 - the new Bathroom/Technical building. This wonderful facility, while it is simply wood, brick, wire, metal, speaks volumes about the celebration of human giving beyond measure. With a very generous donation from the PSH Foundation we were able to buy the materials for the building. Subsequently, the same spirit of generosity motivated Jim Connally Masonry and Spaw Glass, Inc. to donate the labor for building construction. Charles Roccaforte donated the Architect work and Austin Sales and Scaffolding provided machinery. To these entities and individuals - our deepest thanks and appreciation. In every activity there are always folks who quietly go about their business doing a great amount of good without expecting any recognition. At the Theatre, we have many such people, but we want to particularly "light up" five folks for their work on the new building - Ernie Cole, Dwight Gheen, Milton Pankratz, Matt Danford and the man who makes so many things work around here - Phil Arbogast. Thanks to everybody. You are the greatest!!!
It is the season for the Trail of Lights, Christmas, Santa Claus, and wish lists. We have a wish list, too. So if you have any of the following laying around in working order, or need a year end deduction:
- Movie projector with capability to show movies on large outdoor screen
- Karaoke machine
- Printer with capability to 13x19
- Lighting instruments for theatre productions
- Concrete picnic tables
- Green plastic chairs to replenish our dwindling stock
Thanksgiving - Christmas - times to eat and celebrate. May we all do that with great gusto. May we also do it with a quiet dedication to daily, not just seasonally, celebrate the light of love that burns in each of us. Feed that light - live in its glow. Come see us.
